Define the workflow Odoo should support
For a shop, this might be a consistent path from order to dispatch. For a manufacturer, it may connect demand, materials and finished goods. We start with one end-to-end scenario: what people do, what the system records and where checks are needed. The module list follows from that.
Scope of implementation
We agree on the scope separately. It can involve an existing database, an integration or a new operational area. Ukrainian documents, accounting needs and external services are explicit requirements to verify; we do not assume compatibility from the platform name.
- Workflow definition and user responsibilities.
- Product, variant, unit and reference-data preparation.
- Odoo configuration and agreed custom modules.
- Data exchange with CRM, storefront or other systems.
- Scenario validation, instructions and team preparation.
When a custom module is needed
We first check standard behaviour and configuration options. A custom module makes sense when a justified requirement is not covered. Before development, we confirm the Odoo version, edition and hosting environment, which affect extension options. We also discuss maintaining the module through upgrades.
Connecting an online store
Before implementation, we define which system owns products, prices, reservations and order statuses. We consider retries, partial deliveries and returns. A repeated storefront request, for example, should not create a second order. We include this in integration checks before live sales depend on it.
What determines cost and timing
The number of workflows, data quality, migration scope, external integrations and custom logic all matter. We distinguish licence and hosting costs from implementation. An overview of current systems, one difficult operation and the desired outcome is enough for an initial discussion. Credentials and customer data are not needed in the first message.
